This course provides an introduction to the human musculoskeletal system with emphasis on functional anatomy, biomechanics, muscle physiology, joint mechanics, and movement analysis. Students will explore how anatomical structures work together to produce and control movement and will apply this knowledge to exercise, performance, and rehabilitation contexts. The course is especially pertinent for students pursuing careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, strength and conditioning, athletic training, and fitness. It is also designed to enhance readiness for advanced courses within the EHS curriculum, including Anatomy and Physiology, Strength and Conditioning, and Health Fitness Assessment.
