Description

This course examines the relationship between urbanization and public health, focusing on how urban environments influence health outcomes and shape social determinants of health. The course will engage students in analyzing the key health challenges in urban settings and exploring solutions through policy, urban planning, urban growth, urban environments, and public health interventions. Weekly readings, discussions, and experiential learning will foster critical thinking and real-world application. The course culminates in a collaborative group project that addresses a contemporary urban health issue.

Prerequisites

Prereq=60 or more credits-junior standing
