Description

This course is designed to deepen understanding of complex financial accounting issues relevant to contemporary business environments. It emphasizes applying advanced accounting principles and standards, particularly regarding corporate financial reporting and analytics. The course will cover the consolidation of financial statements, foreign currency transactions and translations, and accounting for not-for-profit organizations and government entities. It will also explore contemporary issues like financial instruments, hedge accounting, and accounting for crypto assets. Students will develop a comprehensive understanding of advanced financial accounting practices applied in real-world scenarios and apply various data analytics techniques to analyze current accounting issues.
