Description

This course introduces students to the American civil rights tradition, with a focus on constitutional principles, landmark cases, and contemporary issues. We will explore the evolution of civil rights from the Reconstruction Amendments to present-day debates over race, gender, sexuality, and disability. Emphasis is placed on legal reasoning, case law, and the role of law in shaping social change.
